By default, email is not configured for new accounts on A Small Orange's servers. You can create email addresses for each account you wish to use, however.

Note: the following examples assume your domain name is called 'example.com' and your cPanel username is 'example'.

Creating an Email Address

To create your very own email address:

Log in to cPanel.

Click Email Accounts, in the Mail section.

Add your new email address info in the Email, Password, and Password (again)fields.

Tick the option to denote your mailbox quota.
Note: the quota defaults to 10 MB. You can adjust this higher, or enter 0 to give it unlimited (it will be limited by your entire account disk space, so be careful here.

Click Create Account.

Now, when you login to Webmail or configure an email client such as Outlook, Thunderbird, or Apple Mail.app, you'll use the full email address (you@example.com, or whatever you chose for your email address) for the username and the password you just created.

Using the Default Address/Main Account

Enabling this is not recommended. To enable a default address or main account:

Click Mail and then Default Address.

Click Set Default Address.

Select the correct domain name in the dropdown menu and then type in your cPanel username.

Click Change.

This enables all email addressed to an address other than the one created above to be delivered to your cPanel main account.

Forwarding Mail

In the Mail section of cPanel click Forwarders. Here you can add an email forwarder or a website forwarder.

Note: the mail for a forwarded email address will still be delivered to the original sent-to address as well. If you just set up a forwarder, the mail will not be kept locally. If you set up the email account AND a forwarder, then your mail will be kept both locally and forwarded.
